May 2020 box: Spring has sprung!

To our Rad Dads and their loved ones,

Here is your May box! This month’s theme is “Spring has sprung” and we’ve included a number of spring-themed items in this month’s box, from the bunny book to the bumblebee wash mitt to the wildflower honey. Our print shop is still closed, so please accept this in lieu of the monthly insert.

Before we discuss the items in this month’s box, we would like to invite you to join us for our Rad Dad story times each Thursday at 2:30 pm Central Time on Facebook. We have also created a Rad Dad and Family Support Facebook group during coronavirus, which you can access here.

Our book for May is “I Love You, Daddy” by Beatrix Potter. Featuring Peter Rabbit and his dad, this book and its simple, elegant illustrations are a perfect, season-appropriate celebration of dads!

If you’ve read our blog, you’ll know that we often suggest bath time as a way for Dad and baby to bond. This bumblebee wash mitt/bath puppet from Little Twig is a perfect way for Dad to keep baby entertained in the bath, and it also does a great job of keeping your little one clean!

Although many states in the United States are starting to reopen now, we know many of you are still staying at home. So, we’ve included more (spring-themed) comfort food for you during this time: clover honey from AR’s Southern Honey and honey-roasted paleo puffs from Lesser Evil (a healthier version of Cheetos!). We have also included springtime sponges for sensory play (or sponge painting, for older children).

Our long-term regular box customers, who received springtime sponges last year, will be receiving stroopwafels from The Stroop Club instead of the sponges and puffs.

Deluxe box customers will also be able to kick off barbecue season with a barbecue rub from BT Leigh’s Sauces and Rubs, and your babies can also help ring in spring with a duck car racer from Plan Toys.

We hope you all enjoy this month’s box! Please continue to stay safe and healthy!
