What is the Rad Dad Box?

The Rad Dad Box is a monthly subscription box containing items to support new dads and their children. Each box will have at least one product for Dad, one product for baby, and one product for the two to use together.

What's in the box?

We include a book every month for Dad and baby to read together. (We started this practice in September 2017 after receiving feedback from our customers.)  

Other items that you might find in your Rad Dad Box are self-care products, such as soap, deodorant, and hand sanitizer, Dad-themed apparel, and Dad-approved toys and products for baby.

How often do you include onesies?

We include onesies every four months, in February, June, and October. You also have an option to receive more than one onesie during your subscription if you would like to customize your box.

When do your boxes ship?

Gift boxes and individual items purchased in our gift store ship within 1-3 days of your order.


Your box ships between the 18th and 22nd of the month.


Our December 2018 shipping schedule will be as follows:

- Boxes ship by the 14th of the month

- Any orders coming in between the 14th and 24th will be shipped next day.

- We will take a break on the 25th and 26th. We will resume next day shipping of orders on the 27th and will continue until the 31st.

- Any orders coming in on or after January 1st will be shipped with our January shipment on January 20th.

When is the deadline to order or subscribe and receive the current month's box?

We take orders up until shipping day. Anyone who subscribes after this period will receive the following month's box. If we have overstock, we will contact you and offer you a choice between boxes. You can order gift boxes anytime. 

When do I get billed?

You are billed on the last day of the month, for the following month. 

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order and receive a full refund any time before the item ships. Unfortunately, we cannot cancel orders and issue refunds after the box has shipped.

I want to cancel my subscription before the 3 or 6 months are up. Can I still get a refund?

Things happen, circumstances change, and we understand. If you need to cancel your subscription early, we would be happy to issue you a refund for the unshipped boxes. Please note, however, that we will calculate the refund as the difference between the price you paid and the month-to-month price of the boxes already shipped. 

What if my items are damaged?

Please contact us at info@raddadbox.com if your items are damaged in transit.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide! We used to live in Canada and were constantly annoyed by all the US companies that would never ship to Canada and we vowed never to do the same! 

What are your international shipping rates?

Our shipping rates are $16 to Canada and $22 to the rest of the world. We would love to offer cheaper rates, but unfortunately, this is what USPS charges (and actually, just a little more )! 

What are your domestic shipping rates (within the U.S.)?

For subscription boxes, we have a flat shipping rate of $8.00 per box. 

The reviews for this box say that the recipients received handwritten notes and received a personal email about customizing their boxes, but I didn't receive this. Can you please explain?

We try very hard to reach out personally to each customer and offer the opportunity to customize their first box. However, during our busy periods (Father's Day and Christmas/holidays), we don't always have the time to do this, unfortunately. If you order 2-3 days before a major holiday, we assume that you would rather have your box in time rather than go back and forth about customizing the box and risk having the box come after the holiday, so we ship those orders as they come in. Unfortunately, during these busy times, we tend to go with printed notes for the very same reason.

Are your books new or used?

All of our books are in unread condition. Some may contain remainder marks, which is a practice by book publishers to prevent the books from being returned. These books are purchased at a substantial discount and allow us to include an extra item in your box. We never send used books. 

Can I do a box substitution and opt for the previous month's box instead of the current month's?

If we have any boxes left over from the previous month, we would be happy to do a box substitution for you.

Can I customize my box?

Yes! Please contact us for customization. We invite you to take a look at our online store, as we have several curated one-time gift boxes available there.

Do you have anything for gay dads?

At the moment, we don't have anything specific for gay dads. However, our boxes can be used by gay and straight dads alike - and their babies!

Do you have anything for expecting dads?

At the moment, we don't have anything specific for expecting dads, although we do eventually plan on offering a one-time gift box for expecting dads. For the time being, we encourage expecting dads and their partners to check out our Rad Dad Newborn Starter Kit. It contains many necessary items you'll need for the first two weeks of your baby's life!

I have a toddler. Will the baby items in your box be appropriate for him/her?

As parents of a toddler, we sometimes feel as exhausted as we did when our son was a newborn! So, we believe that even dads with a year or two of experience on their hands could benefit from this box and we do have items that are appropriate for toddlers. You'll be asked to enter your baby's birth month and year when you sign up. Based on this information, we'll be able to select age-appropriate gifts for your little one. Our products are appropriate for children 3 and under.

I'm interested in having my products included in the Rad Dad Box. Are you looking for new vendors?

Yes, always! Please contact us at info@raddadbox.com with images of your work and a link to your website. No need to explain why you would be a good fit. We  can figure it out. :)

I'm a journalist/blogger/influencer/member of the media and I would like to review your box for my publication. What should I do?
